On the occasion of Pink Night, the Rocca del Sasso fortress in Verucchio is organising a special guided night tour by candlelight.
The appointment is Saturday 20 June at 11.30 p.m. to discover the secrets of the Malatesta fortification in a unique atmosphere lit only by lanterns and candelabra.
During the tour, visitors can hold a candle to closely observe details of the furnishings, floors and walls of the fortress. The guide will accompany the group through the courtyards, the rooms of the Baronial Palace and the dungeons, recounting the stories and mysteries connected with this place.
The stories of Paolo and Francesca, the legend of Sigismondo Malatesta's secret passage and the events of the ghost of Malatestino dall'Occhio will be explored. The story of Ippolita Comneno, the loves of the Malatesta family and why the Mastio is known as the 'Tower of the Hanged Men' will also be discussed.
